St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake Celebrates 60th Anniversary
On Monday, April 8, St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake celebrated its 60th anniversary of serving the community’s health care needs. The anniversary event began with a Mass celebrated in the hospital chapel by Bishop of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie Marcel Damphousse and Father Tony Man-Son-hing, of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. They were joined by former St. Joseph’s General Hospital CEO Sister Sarah Quakenbush, of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Sault Ste. Marie; and by Greg Humbert representing Catholic Health Sponsors of Ontario (CHSO).

Father Frank Morrisey received the first CHSO Meritorious Award at CHSO’s Forum and Gala Dinner held on June 26th in Toronto. This honour recognizes extraordinary contributions by individuals that have had a significant impact on Catholic health care.
